Metal planters conduct cold and heat very effectively and in extreme conditions this can lead to the plant roots overheating or freezing. To combat this we supply pre-cut sheets of 25mm insulating material for each planter (optional extra on order form). We recommend our Insulation Kit is used in every metal planter. The kit also comes complete with 2 pre-cut sheets of separation membrane. This should be used in the base of the planter to filter the draining water so the dirt stays inside and also between the drainage aggregate layer and soil layer to keep them separate.

To complement our Insulation Kit we supply LECA® drainage aggregate. Calculated in volume to the size of your planter, it provides 100mm depth of lightweight drainage medium, preventing the planter from becoming waterlogged due to bad weather or overwatering (optional extra on order form).

We also supply feet to raise the planters off the ground by 15mm, and lockable wheels to make them easy to move around, ideal for shops or restaurants that need to store the planters inside at night (optional extra on order form).

All rectangular planters come with drainage holes as standard, but you can opt not to have them when you place your order (with or without - the price is the same).
